Resonances Retold

Graphite drawings and digital prints on pergamenata paper

104 x 346 cm

'Located in between, drawings mediate between architect and building. Drawing wanders about architecture.' - Justine Clark, 'The Origin of Drawing'

Inspired by the Main Gallery, this body of work evolved from responding to the abstract shapes cast by passages of light tracing over features in the space. The drawings and prints were installed to interact with each other when activated by natural light in the space. This work was carried out alongside the project DRAW! that aimed to encourage gallery visitors to engage with drawing, with nearly 1300 drawings being produced by the public over the three month project.

Exhibited: York Art Gallery, October 2016 to March 2017
