Sheltered Dreams series
2022 to 23
Two charcoal drawings on pergamenata paper, double sided freestanding frame
28 x 35 cm
'The house shelters day dreaming, the house protects the dreamer, the house allows one to dream in peace' - Gaston Bachelard
This body of work began alongside the larger scale studio work, 'Dwelling'. Inspired by the idea that buildings reveal themselves over time through light and shadow, the works comprise two drawings on translucent paper that interact with each other when placed together in light. The combined drawing gradually changes character over time, revealing different aspects.
New work from this series is currently being developed for exhibition in July on the theme of ‘LIGHT’. This work has been shortlisted as one of ten finalists for this year’s Scott Creative Arts Foundation Emerging Artist Award.
