Project: DRAW! at York Art Gallery

Graphite drawings and digital prints on pergamenata paper
104 x 346 cm

This body of work emerged while working on the project DRAW! that aimed to encourage gallery visitors to engage with drawing, with over 1200 drawings being produced by the public over the three month project. Inspired by the newly revealed Main Gallery roof and the abstract shapes cast by passages of light tracing over features in the space, the work comprised drawings and prints that were installed to interact with each other when activated by natural light.

Exhibited: York Art Gallery, October 2016 to March 2017

'Located in between, drawings mediate between architect and building. Drawing wanders about architecture.' - Justine Clark, 'The Origin of Drawing'
